XFOR: Index File Corruption with Network Error during File Update or Write-back (166385)

Microsoft Mail Server uses an index file in each mailbox directory for
performance purposes. The index file is a quick summary of the messages
contained in the mailbox directory. If there is a network disconnection or
file I/O problem during an update, the file may be corrupted, and the inbox
becomes inaccessible.
WORKAROUND
Follow the product documentation for restoring Mail Server mailboxes.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial
Internet System version 1.0. This problem has been corrected in the latest
U.S. Service Pack for Microsoft Commercial Internet System version 1.0. For
