PUB97: Setup Incorrectly Finds Older Copy of Publisher 97 (166327)

When you install Publisher 97 on a computer that already has an
earlier version of Publisher on it, you receive the following message:
There is an older version of Microsoft Publisher 97 in the
following folder...
You receive this message no matter what version of Publisher you
already have installed.
CAUSE
Publisher 97 uses a standardized setup program in which the name of
the product is defined as Microsoft Publisher 97. The setup program
then inserts the name of the product into several different messages
that appear during different phases of the installation process.
STATUS
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information
here as it becomes available.
