PPT97: Action Item Slides Lost on Embedded Presentations (165793)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 97 for Windows

This article was previously published under Q165793

SYMPTOMS

If you use Meeting Minder to create action items during a slide show, those action items appear in an Action Items slide at the end of the presentation. However, if your presentation contains embedded (branched) presentations, and you create action items while you are viewing one of the branched presentations, no action items are added.

CAUSE

When you start Meeting Minder, the only presentation it knows about is the current presentation. If the current presentation is actually an embedded presentation object, it cannot determine which presentation is the parent presentation. In addition, it cannot add the Action Items slide to the embedded presentation object because the object is an OLE object. You cannot "play" and "edit" an OLE object at the same time. STATUS

This feature is under review and will be considered for inclusion in a future release.
