PPT97: Error Opening Pptsms.pdf in Adobe Acrobat (165425)

You receive the following error message when you double-click the
Pptsms.pdf file in the root directory of the PowerPoint 97 compact
disc.
There was an error opening this document. File does not begin with
'%PDF-'.
This file is also packed inside the Ppt97_1.cab cabinet file on disk 1
of the Microsoft PowerPoint 97 retail disk set.
CAUSE
This error occurs when you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your
computer. When you double-click the Pptsms.pdf file, Windows attempts to
start Adobe Acrobat Reader. Because the file has a .pdf file extension,
Windows interprets the file as an Adobe Acrobat file. However, the file
is actually a Package Definition File that can be used by Microsoft
Systems Management Server (SMS).
RESOLUTION
If you really want to see what this file contains, you can open it in
Microsoft WordPad. Start WordPad, and then click Open on the File menu.
