Renaming Source Directory Causes Deletion of Downstream Directory (165336)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Commercial Internet System 1.0
This article was previously published under Q165336 SYMPTOMS
Automatic replications are deleting downstream replica directories when
the name changes on the source.
CAUSE
A directory is recursed when it is renamed (or added) and adds each of the
files in the directory to the replication queue. Empty directories are not
affected by the fix. Empty directories will be replicated during a re-sync
when the Content Replication System is stopped and restarted.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial
Internet System version 1.0. A supported fix is now available, but is not
fully regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing
this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific
problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that
contains this fix. Contact Microsoft Product Support Services for more
information.
