XL97: Scrolling Through Worksheet Causes MS Excel to Pause (164919)

If you scroll through a worksheet by using the vertical scroll bar or
the DOWN ARROW key, Microsoft Excel may pause momentarily; for example
Microsoft Excel may pause every 20 rows or so.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if all of the following conditions are true:
- You created the workbook in Microsoft Excel 5.0 or 7.0.
-and-
- Before you scroll through the worksheet, you set a page break or set a
print area; or you switch to print preview and back to the normal view.
-and-
- On the View tab in the Options dialog box, the Page Breaks check
box is selected.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, use either of the following methods.
Method 1: Clear the Page Breaks Check Box
To do this, use the following steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- In the Options dialog box, click the View tab.
- Click to clear the Page Breaks check box.
- Click OK.
NOTE: To view page breaks, view the document in page break preview (click
Page Break Preview on the View menu).
Method 2: Cache the Data on the Worksheet- On the File menu, click Print Preview.
- In Print Preview, click Close.
- Click cell A1.
- Press CTRL+END.
- Press CTRL+HOME.
This method allows you to continue displaying page breaks on the worksheet.
