ILS Cannot Perform Substring Searches (164801)

There is a problem in Internet Locator System (ILS) that prevents
substring searches from working on any attribute except CN (e-mail
address).
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial
Internet System version 1.0. This problem has been corrected in the
latest U.S. Service Pack for Microsoft Commercial Internet System
version 1.0. For information on obtaining the Service Pack, query

MORE INFORMATION
The search engine has been changed to allow for searches on more than just
the e-mail address. In particular, these updates apply to Ldapsvc.dll and
Ipldb.dll.
