SUMMARY

This article describes how to use the Internet Mail and News Address Book with Outlook 97.

MORE INFORMATION

Version 4.70.1160 or later of Internet Mail and News includes the ability to run the Address Book as a separate program. If you have an existing Internet Mail and News Address Book (WAB) and you upgrade to the latest version, you can access your addresses in the new version of the Address Book. With Outlook set as your default mail program, you can send Outlook e- mail directly from your Address Book.

The Internet Mail and News program is available on the Microsoft Web site at: Download and install "Internet Mail and News for Windows 95 & NT 4.0." Check that the version is 4.70.1160 or later.

Follow these steps to set Outlook as your default mail program:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the View menu, click Options.
  3. Click the Programs tab.
  4. In the Mail list, click to select Microsoft Outlook.
  5. Click OK and exit Internet Explorer.
To use the Windows Address Book, start Wab.exe from your Windows folder. Select a contact and from the File menu, click Send Mail to.

NOTE: If you do not have a Wab.exe file on your computer, you did not install the correct version.
