Problems Changing Appearance Scheme (164413)

SYMPTOMS

When you change the color scheme in the Display tool in Control Panel, the color scheme may change but revert back to the original scheme after you restart the computer.

CAUSE

The High Contrast Accessibility feature is enabled.

RESOLUTION

If you do not want to use the High Contrast feature, follow these steps to disable it:
  1. In Control Panel, double-click Accessibility.
  2. On the Display tab, click the Use High Contrast check box to clear it.
If you want to use the High Contrast feature, follow these steps to change the color scheme:
  1. In Control Panel, double-click Accessibility.
  2. On the Display tab, click Settings.
  3. Click Custom to select the scheme you want.

The High Contrast feature is intended for visually impaired persons. It features large fonts and colors that contrast with each other, making the display easier to read.
