SYMPTOMS

When you uninstall the Microsoft Content Replication System from a domain controller, the uninstall process does not remove domain groups.

CAUSE

If the server is a domain controller, the Microsoft Content Replication System installation will create domain groups.

RESOLUTION

To remove the Microsoft Content Replication System domain groups manually using User Manager for Domains, do the following:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, and click Administrative Tools and then User Manager for Domains.
  2. Select the CRS Administrators domain group and the CRS Users domain group one at a time, and click the Delete key. Groups and users that are deleted in User Manager for Domains are not recoverable.
