XFOR: NNTPSVC 501 Syntax Error When Wildcard (*) in List Newsgroup Command (164079)

The NNTP server does not return a list of newsgroup when you use the
asterisk (*) wildcard specifier when issued from a telnet client. For
example:

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial
Internet System version 1.0. This problem has been corrected in the
latest U.S. Service Pack for Microsoft Commercial Internet System

Issuing the 'list newsgroups <group>.*' command now returns a list of all
sub-groups and articles for the specified <group>.
