GW: Could Not Initialize Gwutil.dll or Illegal Operation Error (162968)

After installing Greetings Workshop and restarting the computer, you may
receive the following error message:
Could not initialize Gwutil.dll
The "Greetings Workshop Reminder Service" dialog box has only an OK button.
Clicking OK will take you to the desktop in Windows.
Also, while trying to start Greetings Workshop, you may receive the
following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut
down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click the Details button, you receive the following message:
GWORKSHP caused an invalid page fault in module GWORKSHP.EXE at
0137:00405661.
CAUSE
This behavior is caused by a system date that is set for the year 2039 or
later.
RESOLUTION
Set the system date to any year before 2039. To do so, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
- Click (or double-click) the Date/Time icon and then in the Date/Time
Properties dialog box, click the Date & Time tab.
- Click the down arrow to the right of the Year box until you reach
either the current year or any year before 2039, and then click OK.
