PI Slide Show Error: Invalid Command-Line Flag Detected (162943)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to view a slide show from inside Picture It! you may get the following error.
Picture It! Slide Show Error: Invalid command-line flag detected!
If you run the slide show viewer (Pislide.exe) independent of Picture It! you may not get the error.

CAUSE

The file name of the slide show or one of its component images has a dash (- ) or a slash (/) in it.

RESOLUTION

Rename the file so the name does not contain dashes or slashes.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Picture It! version 1.0. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
