The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows 95

This article was previously published under Q162502

SYMPTOMS

If you have a single slide that contains multiple PowerPoint presentation objects, the objects always play in the same order if you start them using Animation Settings on the Tools menu.

CAUSE

When you place more than one PowerPoint presentation object on a slide, and set their Custom Animation settings or Animation Settings to Show, the branched presentations follow the Animation Order that is set in the Custom Animation dialog box.

RESOLUTION

To run the objects in the order you want, use the Interactive Settings on the Tools menu.

For each branched PowerPoint presentation, click the presentation object and then follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Interactive Settings.
  2. Click to select the Object Action option. From the list under Object Action, select Show. Click OK.
  3. On the Tools menu, click Animation Settings.
  4. In the Animation Settings dialog box, under Play Options, select Don't Play, and then click OK.
