TMGR: Custom Field Edit May Not Be Accepted (162495)

SYMPTOMS

When entering values in a custom field which has preset values, Team Manager may not accept the entry.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Team Manager 97 for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

If the "Allow other values to be typed" option for the custom field is disabled, Team Manager may not accept a value in the field. The following workarounds are possible:

  1. Press the ESC key twice to cancel the current edit in the field. This will remove the text entered into the field.
  2. Modify the custom field to enable Allow Other Values.

To allow edits in a custom field, do the following:

  1. On the Format menu, click Column,and then Click Custom Fields.
  2. In the Custom Fields list, click the field to be modified and click Properties.
  3. In "Define choices for this field", click "Allow other values to be typed" to enable it.
