SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to access certain items on the properties page for the To field in the Microsoft Electronic Forms Designer for Exchange, the following error message may appear:
Logon failed due to the following runtime error 4:
Application-defined or object defined error.
This problem only occurs running the Exchange Windows NT client on Windows NT 4.0.

CAUSE

This error occurs due to a problem with the Component Object Model (COM) interface on Windows NT 4.0.

STATUS

NOTE: To fix this problem, you must apply BOTH Service Packs referenced below.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT version 4.0. For information on obtaining the Service Pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
