Document Formatting Not Preserved During Conversion (161693)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Pocket Word 1.0
This article was previously published under Q161693 SYMPTOMS
When you copy a Microsoft Word document from your desktop computer to your
Handheld PC (H/PC) and then open the document using Pocket Word, complex
tabs, section headings, and some numbered lists do not retain their
settings.
CAUSE
By default, the file conversion properties for the Desktop To H/PC
converter are set to convert Microsoft Word documents (.doc files) to
Pocket Word documents (.pwd files.) The conversion process does not
properly preserve some formatting.
RESOLUTION
To preserve numbered lists and section headings, save the .doc file as a
Rich Text Format (.rtf) file on your desktop computer, and then copy the
.rtf file to your H/PC. You must manually re-create other formatting that
is not preserved.
