- Microsoft Access 1.1

- Microsoft Access for Windows 95 7.0
- Microsoft Access 97
This article was previously published under Q160872 Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.
SYMPTOMS
If you print preview an object in the Database window, and then you click
Print Preview on the File menu, the object closes.
CAUSE
In Microsoft Access, the Print Preview mode is toggled either on or off.
When you print preview an object in Microsoft Access 7.0 or earlier, the
Print Preview command on the File menu has a check mark or a bullet next
to it; in Microsoft Access 97, the button next to the Print Preview
command on the File menu is pushed in. If you click Print Preview when it
has a check mark, a bullet, or a pushed in button next to it, you are
issuing a command to turn Print Preview off. Consequently, the object you
are previewing closes.
NOTE: If you open a form, report, macro, or module in Design view, and then
you print preview the object, when you click Print Preview on the File
menu the object returns to Design view. It does not close.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
