DirectX Setup: An internal error has occurred.

-or-

Direct X Setup : This program is English version only.

CAUSE

The DreamWorks program runs on localized versions of Windows, but Setup fails because it tries to install the English version of DirectX.

RESOLUTION

Install the Japanese version of DirectX and run the program from the executable file (located on the DreamWorks compact disc). The .exe file is located in the \Setup directory.

Create a shortcut to the program on your desktop using the following steps:
  1. With your right mouse button, click your desktop (wallpaper).
  2. Point to New, and then click Shortcut.
  3. Click Browse.
  4. Locate nhc.exe or gb.exe in the \Setup directory on the DreamWorks compact disc.
  5. Click the appropriate .exe, click Open, and then click Next.
  6. Type a name for the shortcut. For example, type:

    The Neverhood

    -or-

    Goosebumps: Escape from HorrorLand
