Money 5: Credit Card Payment Wizard Does Not Launch (160713)

SUMMARY

When you create a transaction using the new category, Credit Card Payment; Money launches the Credit Card Payment Wizard. You can also create and use a subcategory called Credit Card Payment to launch the wizard. Answering each of the questions in the wizard helps you manage your payments.

If you remove this standard category from the list, or if you upgraded to Money 5.0 from an earlier version of Money or Quicken, your file will not contain the Credit Card Payment category. This article discusses how to add this category or subcategory to your file.

To add the Credit Card Payment category for the Credit Card Payment Wizard to launch, do one of the following:

Restore the Category

On the Tools menu, click Options.
In the Options dialog, click the Categories tab.
Under the Manage Category List section, click Add. This restores all of the Money standard categories.

Manually Add the Category

On the Go To menu, click Payees and Categories.
In the Payees and Categories dialog, click Categories, and then click New.
In the Add section, make sure that Category is selected.
In the Name field, type Credit Card Payment.
click Next and complete the wizard.

NOTE: You can also add new categories in the Account form. Instead of selecting one of the existing categories or subcategories, type in the name of the new category or subcategory.

If you manually create the Credit Card Payment category or subcategory, you must type in the name correctly with the correct spaces. For example, these names do not launch the Credit Card Payment Wizard:

credit card
credit caard paymt
credit card payment
creditcardpayment

However, these names do launch the wizard:

credit card payment
Credit Card Payment
Credit card payment
