PRJ: Unable to Use Drawing Tools (160641)

SYMPTOMS

You switch to the Gantt chart view and attempt to use the drawing tools, but they are disabled (grayed out).

CAUSE

The Show Drawings option is turned off. To turn this option on, do the following:

  1. Click Gantt Chart from the View menu.
  2. Click Layout from the Format menu.
  3. Select the Show Drawings checkbox. Click OK.

MORE INFORMATION

The Gantt chart is the only view that has the capability to have drawings placed on the view. To gain access to the drawing tools, you must display the drawing toolbar. You can do this using one of the following methods:

  • Click the Drawing button on the Standard toolbar.

    -or-

  • Follow these steps:

    1. On the View menu, click Toolbars.
    2. In the toolbars dialog box, click the Drawing toolbar and then click the Show button.
