TMGR: Views Can't Have Independent Sorting Filtering Grouping (160488)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Team Manager

This article was previously published under Q160488

SUMMARY

Microsoft Team Manager task views cannot have independent sorting, filtering, or grouping. For example, if the Task Organizer view is grouped by Priority, the Start-to-Finish Graph will also be grouped in the same way. Likewise, if the Workload Planner view is sorted by Task Name, the Actual Work view is sorted in the same way.

MORE INFORMATION

Although views in the Tasks tab cannot have independent sorting, filtering, and grouping, it is possible to associate a specific filter and grouping with a Vital Signs tab custom sheet view.

To create or edit a custom Vital Signs view, click the Vital Signs tab, and on the Views menu, click More Views. Then click the Add/Remove tab and use the New button to create a new custom Vital Signs sheet view, or select an existing custom Vital Signs sheet view from the list and use the Edit button to modify it. The New and Edit buttons bring up the Vital Signs View Wizard, which allows a filter and grouping to be associated with the view. Anytime the view is applied, its associated filter and grouping are automatically applied.

Specific sortings cannot be associated with custom Vital Signs sheet views; they are always sorted by ID.

NOTE: The predefined Vital Signs views have built in sorting and filtering, and cannot be modified.
