The information in this article applies to:
- DreamWorks Interactive, The Neverhood 1.0
This article was previously published under Q160345 SYMPTOMS
When you run The Neverhood on a computer using a Diamond Stealth 3D
2000 video card, the program may stop responding (hang) when you get to
the cannon.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, do the following:
- On The Neverhood compact disc, double-click Dxsetup.exe (located in the
Setup\Directx folder on The Neverhood disc).
- In the DirectX Setup window, remove the check mark from the Direct 3D
Hardware Acceleration check box. This allows you to get past the cannon
without the computer hanging.
NOTE: The latest display drivers available have not solved this problem.
- If the problem still occurs, change Graphics Acceleration to Basic:
- In Control Panel, double-click the System icon.
- On the Performance tab, click Graphics.
- Move the Acceleration slider to one notch above None.
- Click OK, then click Close.
- If this does not resolve the problem, contact your hardware manufacturer
about obtaining updated drivers.
NOTE: The driver release 4.04.00.2104 (file name VX952104.exe) available
from http:/www.diamondmm.com solves this problem.
