TMGR: Team Members Cannot Create & Send Goals to Team Manager (160338)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q160338 SUMMARY
Microsoft Team Manager for Team Members does not have a facility to allow
team members to create their own goals and send them to the team manager
for automatic incorporation into the team plan.
MORE INFORMATION
Goals must be entered directly into the team file using Microsoft Team
Manager and cannot be automatically incorporated from update messages from
team members. The manager enters a list of goals for team members using the
Performance Goals view on the People tab. The Goal Properties button can be
used to attach overall and task-specific notes and ratings to each goal.
Associating tasks with goals is optional.
If a team member needs to create performance goals, he/she can enter the
goals and associated notes and tasks in an ordinary e-mail message and send
them to the team manager, who manually enters (or copies and pastes) them
into the team member's performance goal list and associated notes areas in
the team file.
NOTE: Team members can use the Team Status viewer (by clicking the View
Team Status button in Microsoft Team Manager for Team Members) to see the
tasks in the team file that they are assigned to.
