If you copy a collection of drawing objects to the clipboard, and then
paste them onto a page as a picture, some of the lines may appear to
be missing or partially drawn. However, when you print the page or
publish it as a Web page, the lines appear correctly.
If you change the zoom percentage, the missing lines reappear. They
generally appear at a 75% zoom percentage or higher (the exact
percentage depends on the resolution of your display.)
CAUSE
As separate or grouped objects, lines, boxes, circles, and so forth
are self-contained Publisher metafile drawing objects. They contain
all the necessary information to be displayed correctly on screen, as
well as consistent measurement units so all are displayed in the same
relative sizes.
When they are cut or copied to the clipboard and then pasted back as a
picture, Publisher converts them into a single metafile drawing
object. This new metafile object has different measurement units, and
contains information not only about the lines that make up the object,
but also on the areas between lines. This can cause Publisher not to
display the line, but rather display only the empty space behind it.
When you zoom in on a page, Publisher uses more of the metafile's
measurement units. Publisher is then more likely to display all the
lines.
