  • Microsoft Publisher 97

This article was previously published under Q160222

SYMPTOMS

Suppose you use the Card & Invitation PageWizard Design Assistant to create the greeting card with the graphic of the gold horn with the red bow on the front. Then you print that card to the Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet 820C or 820Cse printer. The printer stops responding. You can work in Publisher and other programs, and you can also save files, but you can't cancel the print job or print any other document to the DeskJet 820C until you restart your computer.

NOTE: The card prints correctly to other printers.

CAUSE

The piece of clip art (Holly.wmf) does not print correctly to this printer when you insert it as a Clip Gallery object and print it upside down.

WORKAROUND

  1. Go to Page 3 of your greeting card.
  2. Click the small picture of a holly sprig at the bottom of the page.
  3. On the Edit menu, click Cut. The holly sprig graphic disappears.
  4. On the Edit menu, click Paste Special.
  5. Click Picture on the As: list.
  6. The holly sprig graphic appears in the middle of the page.
  7. Drag the holly sprig graphic to its former location.
You can now print your card successfully.
