XFOR: IMS: Quote Character In Quoted String (160156)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Commercial Internet System 1.0
This article was previously published under Q160156 SYMPTOMS
When using SMTP, the quote character in a quoted string is not part
of the quoted string. For example, here are two scenarios detailing this
symptom:
Scenario 1
A mail message from
will erroneously return
250 "joe smith"@dm....Sender OK
because a quote-character (\) within a quoted string is not treated
as part of it.
Scenario 2
A mail message from
will erroneously return
250 "joe \smith"@dm....Sender OK
because a quote-character (\) that is to be part of a quoted string must
be preceded by a quote-character (\).
STATUS
