TMGR: How to Open Multiple Team Files (159799)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q159799 SUMMARY
Microsoft Team Manager is a Single Document Interface (SDI) application.
This means it can open only one file at a time.
It is possible to run multiple instances of Microsoft Team Manager and Team
Status. However, a specific team file can only be opened by one Microsoft
Team Manager instance; other Microsoft Team Manager instances cannot open
the same team file. The Team Status viewer, however, can open a team file
that is already open in another instance of Team Status or Microsoft Team
Manager.
MORE INFORMATION
Before a different file can be created or opened (by using, for example,
the New or Open commands on the File menu), Microsoft Team Manager closes
the active team file and displays the "...save change...?" message if
appropriate. Because only one team file can be open at a time, there is no
Window menu.
It is also not possible to have Microsoft Team Manager running visibly
without having a team file open or in the process of being opened. When
Microsoft Team Manager starts up, it displays a dialog box that forces you
to create a new team file or open an existing one. For the Team Status
viewer, the Create options are disabled.
NOTE: It is possible to run an invisible instance using Visual Basic for
Applications that has no file open, but the only commands it understands
are New and Open.
