WD97: Words Missing from Custom Dictionary After Undo (159790)

SYMPTOMS

Words that you add to the custom dictionary do not appear in the custom dictionary.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the following are true:
  • You click the Undo button in the Spelling And Grammar dialog box (Tools menu).

    -and-
  • You did not select the Check Spelling As You Type option. (To locate this option, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Spelling And Grammar tab.)

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do the following before you run the spelling checker:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling And Grammar tab.
  2. Click to select the Check Spelling As You Type check box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the beginning of this article.
