MSB Human: Hangs Before Classroom or During Transition (159761)

SYMPTOMS

When you run Magic School Bus Explores the Human Body (MSB Human) for Windows, the program may stop responding or display vertical lines during the opening video or during transitions. This may require you to restart the computer.

RESOLUTION

Change the Animation Option to a smaller size screen using the steps below that apply to your operating system.

Windows 95/98

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Kids, and then click Bus Stop Utility - Human Body.
  2. Click the Animation Options button.
  3. Click the picture of the monitor with the smallest picture of the Magic School Bus (the one with the number 1 next to it).

    Verify that the video plays correctly.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click Exit.
  6. Run MSB Human.
If you are using an S3 Inc. Virge PCI video card, try reducing the Graphics Acceleration to Basic, using the following steps:
  1. In Control Panel, double-click System.
  2. Click the Performance tab, and then click Graphics.
  3. Note that the Hardware Acceleration slider has four settings (Full, Most, Basic, and None).
  4. Move the slider until it is one notch to the right of None (Basic).
  5. Click OK, then click Close.

Windows 3.x

  1. Open the Microsoft Kids program group.
  2. Double-click Bus Stop Utility - Human Body.
  3. Click the Animation Options button.
  4. Click the picture of the monitor with the smallest picture of the Magic School Bus (the one with the number 1 next to it).

    Verify that the video plays correctly.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Exit.
  7. Run MSB Human.
After following the steps outlined above, MSB Human should run correctly.

MORE INFORMATION

MSB Human has the ability to display videos full screen, however, not all video cards support the full screen option that MSB Human utilizes to display the videos on the screen.
