WD97: Placeholder Replaces Image After Adding Hyperlink (157637)

If you copy and paste a graphic from one Web page to another, select the
pasted image, and then insert a hyperlink, the image appears as a
placeholder showing a circle, square, and triangle.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- Open the original Web page containing the image you want.
- Right-click the image and click Save Picture As.
- Choose a location and type a name for the image and Click Save.
- Switch to the second document.
- On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.
- Select the image you saved in step 3 and click Insert.
- Select the image and click Hyperlink on the Insert menu.
- In the Link to File or URL box, type the URL and click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem is corrected in Microsoft Word 2000 for Windows.
