Neverhood Err Msg: System File Error (157573)
The information in this article applies to:
- DreamWorks Interactive, The Neverhood 1.0
This article was previously published under Q157573 SYMPTOMS
If you remove The Neverhood compact disc during Setup or while the Setup
screen is displayed, you may receive the following error message:
"SYSTEM FILE ERROR"
The following system files have been replaced with older versions by a
program you recently ran. These files are currently in use and cannot
be automatically repaired. Setup has performed an illegal operation and
will be shut down.
Followed by more messages:
"SETUP caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at
0137:bff858cd." and "NHC caused an invalid page fault in module
SMACKW32.DLL at 0137:004c6cfc."
CAUSE
You removed the disc from your CD-ROM drive before exiting Setup.
This causes the file copy process to terminate incorrectly. The
files copied remain in memory.
RESOLUTION
Do not remove the disc during setup.
STATUS
This is normal behavior for a CD-ROM based program.
MORE INFORMATION
If you removed the disc during Setup, you need to delete any files
copied to your hard drive before you received the error message. Then, run
Setup again.
