XL97: Callout Adjustment Handle Disappears When Moved (157413)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q157413 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Excel 97, you can move the yellow adjustment handles for a
callout to adjust the location and size of the callout. If a callout has
three or more adjustment handles, when you move the adjustment handles, one
of the handles disappears.
CAUSE
This problem may occur when you move one of the adjustment handles such
that it is on top of another handle for the same callout. When this occurs,
the handle that is beneath the other handle becomes unusable and may not be
visible.
RESOLUTION
When this problem occurs, there is no way to recover the handle. If you
require the additional yellow adjustment handle to size or position the
callout line, you must recreate the callout.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
MORE INFORMATION
The AutoShapes menu on the Drawing toolbar is new to Microsoft Excel 97.
The AutoShapes that are available include basic shapes like rectangles and
circles, plus a variety of lines and connectors, block arrows, flowchart
symbols and banners, and callouts. To insert an AutoShape, click AutoShape
on the Drawing toolbar.
