XL97: SendKeys Slower When Compared to MS Excel 7.0 (157096)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q157096 SYMPTOMS
When you run a Visual Basic for Applications macro that uses the SendKeys
statement in Microsoft Excel 97, the macro may be slower compared to
earlier versions of Microsoft Excel.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use the SendKeys method for the Application
object instead of the SendKeys statement. In Microsoft Excel 97, the
SendKeys method for the Application object executes more quickly than the
Visual Basic SendKeys statement.
For example, if you use the following SendKeys command:
SendKeys "^X"
replace it with the following command:
Application.SendKeys "^X"
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
