SYMPTOMS

When you select the AutoCorrect option "Capitalize Names of Days" and type the name of a day, the name is not capitalized.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you type the name of a day in a language that is different from the version of the programs listed at the beginning of this article.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

Regardless of the country setting in the Windows Control Panel, in order for AutoCorrect to correctly identify and capitalize the name of a day, you must type the name in a language that matches the version of the Office program.

For example, if you are using the U.S. version of Microsoft Excel, AutoCorrect does not automatically capitalize the name of a day when you type it in French (for example, Mardi).
