SUMMARY

When you scroll up or down in a Web page by clicking and holding a scroll arrow, the scrolling may begin smoothly but become jerky.

MORE INFORMATION

When you click and hold a scroll arrow, Internet Explorer switches from smooth scrolling mode to acceleration mode. This behavior is more noticeable on faster computers.

Note that Internet Explorer uses smooth scrolling by default. To disable this feature, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the Internet icon on the desktop, and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Advanced tab, and then click the Use Smooth Scrolling check box to clear it.
This speeds up the scrolling of Web pages, but the jerky scrolling becomes more apparent.
