SUMMARY

When you run Picture It! for the first time or after changing your display settings, Picture It! may offer to optimize your display to High Color and 800x600 resolution. Other applications such as games may require different settings such as 256 colors; the steps below explain how to change your display settings.

To change display settings in Windows 95 do the following:

  1. Click the Start button and click Settings.
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. In the Control Panel, double-click Display.
  4. In the Display Properties dialog, click the Settings tab.
  5. For the Color Palette click 256 colors, and for the Desktop Area click the resolution you want.
  6. Click OK.
  7. When prompted to restart Windows, click Yes.

When you run Picture It! again, you will be prompted to optimize your display again. If you don't want to optimize your display before using Picture It! Do the following:

  1. In the Display Not Optimized dialog, click the option button for Leave As Is and the check box for Don't Show Me This Again.

    NOTE:If the Leave As Is option is not available, your settings do not meet the minimum required to run Picture It! and you must increase your settings to at least 256 colors.
  2. Click OK.
