BUG: SQL Server Web Assistant Causes Stack Overflow (155581)

When you run SQL Server in Windows NT 3.51 and use the SQL Server Web
Assistant over TCP/IP sockets or Multi-Protocol network library, a stack
overflow occurs. The Web Assistant reports that a task has been created
to build the web page, but no such task is created. The error log reports
that an EXCEPTION_STACK_OVERFLOW has been raised.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, do one of the following:
- Do not use the TCP/IP sockets or Multi-Protocol network library with the
SQL Server Web Assistant
-or-
- Upgrade to Windows NT 4.0.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server
version 6.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information
here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
