No Option to Assign Administrator Rights in Comic Chat (155243)

SYMPTOMS

When you are in a chat room as an administrator, the option to assign administrator rights may not be present.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you are using the Beta version of Microsoft Comic Chat. Pre-release versions of Comic Chat do not have the ability to assign administrator rights to another user.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, download the release version of Comic Chat from the following location:

http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/ieadd/0200.htm.

Administrator rights include:
  • The ability to select who is allowed in the chat session.
  • The ability to close a chat session so that no new members can join the session.
  • The ability to disconnect a session member.
