To assign administrator rights to a chat room participant, follow these steps:

Microsoft Comic Chat Version 1.0

  1. While in an active chat session, select the participant you want to give administrator rights to by using one of the following methods:
    • Click the participant's character in one of the text and graphic panels.
    • Click the participant's icon in the member list (Icon view).
    • Click the participant's nickname in the member list (List view).
  2. On the Member menu, click Administrator.
  3. Click Make Admin.
Note that only the chat room's administrator can assign administrator rights to another user. Also, it is possible for an administrator to be removed by another administrator.

Microsoft Chat versions 2.0, 2.1 and 2.5

To assign host rights to a chat room participant, follow these steps:

  1. While in an active chat session, select the participant you want to give host rights to by using one of the following methods:
    • Click the participant's character in one of the text and graphic panels.
    • Click the participant's icon in the member list (Icon view).
    • Click the participant's nickname in the member list (List view).
  2. On the Member menu, point to Host and then click Host.
Note that only the chat room's administrator can assign host rights to another user. Also, it is possible for a host to be removed by an administrator.
