PUB97: How To Print Crop Marks on Label-Sized Publications (155097)

SUMMARY

Publisher 97 ships with a Label PageWizard Design Assistant and preformatted page layouts for many Avery labels. If you create a publication using one of these layouts or with the PageWizard, it prints without crop marks. This happens even if you put a mark in the Print Crop Marks box in the Print Dialog.

This is the way Publisher is supposed to work. These layouts are designed to be printed to peel-off label stock. Crop marks are not necessary with this type of paper.

MORE INFORMATION

You can force Publisher to print crop marks on label publications. Note, however, that Publisher can print crop marks only if there is more than a half inch of space between the copies of the publication. Many label formats have the labels butt against each other.
  1. After creating your publication, click Print on the File menu.
  2. Click Page Options.
  3. Click the Custom Options button. If this button is unavailable, click the Print Multiple Copies Per Sheet radio button first.
  4. Make sure the values in the Side Margin, Top Margin, Horizontal Gap, and Vertical Gap text boxes are at least .5". Click OK.
  5. Click the Print Crop Marks box to put a mark in it.
  6. Click OK.
Your publication now prints with multiple copies per sheet with crop marks. The layout of these publications is not, however, the same as the layout of the actual peel-off label sheets.
