Problems with Low Disk Space in Internet Mail and News (154348)

SYMPTOMS

When you are using Internet Mail or Internet News, you may experience any of the following symptoms:

  • You may receive an error message stating that you have a bad connection when you are attempting to open a large newsgroup.
  • During Internet Mail and News installation, Setup may stop after it decompresses the program files.
  • You may receive an error message stating that your message cannot be saved to disk, but a 0-byte file is created.
  • When you are sending mail to or receiving mail from your server, you may receive the following error message:
    Some of the messages failed to download correctly
  • After you save a message in progress to your Inbox, you may receive the following error message:
    Cannot save this message

CAUSE

These errors can occur if your hard disk is full or nearly full.

RESOLUTION

Free some space on the hard disk and then try the action again. Note that making more free disk space available may require that you remove programs or delete file.
