TMGR: Bar Text at Beginning or End Overlaps Bar (153701)

SYMPTOMS

When a date bar has been modified to show text on either the left or right side, the text on the bars at the very beginning and very end of the printout will overlap the bar and possibly each other.

CAUSE

The modification of the date bar looks fine on the screen, but the print preview and the printout show overlapping text. This only happens on the bars at the very beginning and end of the time period. Microsoft Team Manager is overlapping the text rather than just truncating the text because it shows in a time period before or after the tasks dates in the team file.

WORKAROUND

To change the time period to be printed and keep the text from overlapping the date bar, change the Dates From and To dates to dates outside of the time period. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. On the File menu, click Print.
  2. Click to select the Dates From button.
  3. Enter dates in the Dates From and To boxes that are outside the time period of the bars.
  4. If necessary, while in Print Preview, click Print and enter different dates until the your adjustments include enough timescale.
