SMS: Admin UI Fails on Exit With an Application Error (153564)

When you configure the default protocol to "Multi-protocol" in the SQL
Server Client Configuration Utility, the following error message appears
when you close the SMS Administrator:
SMS.EXE - Application Error
The instruction at "0x77f8d67f" referenced memory at "0x00000010". The
memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the application.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Systems Management Server
versions 1.0 and 1.1. This problem has been corrected in Systems Management
Server version 1.2.
