TMGR: Cannot Drag a Person from People Tool to a Summary Task (153162)

SYMPTOMS

In Task view, you can drag a summary task to the People Drag-and-Drop tool to assign a person to all subtasks, but you cannot drag a person from the People tool to a summary task.

To assign a person to all subtasks of a summary task using the People tool, follow these steps:

  1. Start Team Manager and click the Task tab.
  2. On the Tools menu, point to Drag-and-Drop Tools, and then click People. Note that the People box appears with all the people's names.
  3. Click the summary task ID, and then click again holding down the mouse button, and drag it (notice when you start to drag, a clipboard with a check mark icon appears) to the person's name in the People box. Then, release the mouse button.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the product listed at the beginning on this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
