This article was previously published under Q152592 SYMPTOMS
When you try to add a file or application to the Microsoft Office Manager
(MOM) menu, the New button may be dimmed in the Microsoft Office Manager
dialog box.
CAUSE
You may experience this problem if you have already added 24 custom items
to the Microsoft Office Manager. This is the limit of the number of custom
items you can add.
RESOLUTION
You will not be able to add more than 24 custom items to the Microsoft
Office Manager menu. If you want to add a new item to the menu and you
already have 24 custom items, you must remove one of these 24 items before
you can add the new one.
STATUS
This behavior of the Microsoft Office Manager is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
The Microsoft Office Manager menu can be customized to include applications
or files in addition to those installed by Microsoft Office. When you add a
custom item to the Microsoft Office Manager, it is listed below the
separator line that appears below the default Office programs. But, you can
move it up or down to adjust its location on the Microsoft Office Manager
menu.
