TMGR: Drag-and-Drop Tools Behavior (152324)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use the Dates Drag-and-Drop tool to drag a date range to a dates range field, the dates are applied to the Start and Deadline dates.

CAUSE

The Drag-and-Drop tool is designed to apply information to a task, not to a specific field. This behavior is consistent with the other Drag-and-Drop tools. For example, if you drag a person to a task, that person's name is added to the People Assigned field, no matter which cell the pointer is over when you release the mouse button.
