TMGR: OLE Automation Errors Don't Return Error Information (151127)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q151127 SYMPTOMS
When an error is generated in Microsoft Team Manager when it is being
controlled by another application through OLE Automation, Microsoft Team
Manager presents a warning or error dialog box, instead of returning a OLE
run-time error.
CAUSE
Many applications that support OLE automation return a run-time error
to the calling application if the action taken creates an error or warning.
These errors can then be trapped in the calling application and the
corrective action can be handled by the calling applications programming
code. Microsoft Team Manager does not return OLE run-time errors.
MORE INFORMATION
Many actions that would normally generate a dialog box in Microsoft Team
Manager return an OLE automation error when accessed through Visual Basic
for Applications. If the action being performed seems to stop responding,
switch to Team Manager and see if a dialog box has been displayed.
