TMGR: Removing Tasks Does Not Recalculate Baseline Data (150696)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q150696 SUMMARY
If you delete or archive a subtask and have saved the baseline data for
that task's summary task, the baseline information for the summary task
does not take the deletion into account and may appear to be incorrect.
This affects all baseline fields.
MORE INFORMATION
Baseline data is set by clicking Set Baseline on the Tools menu. The
mechanics of this process is that all schedule information gets copied into
the related baseline field: Start into Baseline Start, and so on.
Baseline data is never dynamically recalculated and is not rolled-up to the
summary task. Changes to a subtask's baseline data are not reflected in the
summary tasks baseline data unless the summary task's baseline is reset.
To reset a summary task's baseline fields once a subtask has changed or
been removed, select the summary task, click Set Baseline on the Tools
menu, and in the Set Baseline dialog box, click to select the "For Selected
Tasks Only" option.
