TMGR: OLE Objects Appear as Long Binary Data in MS Access (150412)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Team Manager

This article was previously published under Q150412

SYMPTOMS

If you add an OLE object to a Team Manager file, save it, and then look at the OLEObjects field of the underlying database in Microsoft Access, the object is not accessible as an object.

STATUS

This is by design in Microsoft Team Manager 97.

MORE INFORMATION

Microsoft Access requires additional information to be stored with OLE objects in order for them to be accessible in a table from within Microsoft Access. This information was not included with OLE objects from Microsoft Team Manager because other OLE data would be lost. The only way to access these objects is through Microsoft Team Manager.
